I went to watch “The Dark Knight” with some friends last week. Unfortunately, we only manage to get the 1.40am midnight ticket. To make thing worse, the movie only start around 2am after we wait for like few hours. When the movie end, it was already nearly 5am in the morning. While I was on my way back to home, I saw some peoples were jogging on the street. It seems like everyone is going to start another new day, while me and my friends is just going to sleep.

In this post, I am not going to discuss about how good “The Dark Knight” movie is. But I want talk about a question that Joker was asking in the movie.

Why So Serious?

When Joker ask this question in the movie, it remind that actually a lot of peoples had ask me the same question but in different way such as:

Why you look so serious?
Why are you so serious?
Why your face look so serious?

Well, my answer to that is:

Because I was born with a serious looking face.

When I don’t talk or smile, I do look very serious. Being born with a serious looking face has few advantages. One of the main advantage is while I am walking alone on the street, I won’t be the target of any salesman or promoter. Certainly, I won’t be robbed as well because I am the one that look more like a robber with this serious look.

But with a serious looking face, you will face some problem as well. Just imagine a girl that you like so much tell you this:

I am afraid to talk to you because you look so serious all the time.

It happened to me before and I still remember it until today.
